Technology Updates at First Church

Here is a refreshed list of the equipment and services we are running here at First Church

HP Procurve Switches – Layer 2+

  • 6 -2824 (J4903a)
  • 1 -2848 (J4904a)
  • These are connected via 6 Strand Multi-mode fiber in a star pattern
  • We have 2 2824’s at our core since each switch only has 4 SFP fiber uplink ports

Dell PowerEdge R710 Server

  • Windows Server 2008 R2
  • Acts as our Domain Controller, Active Directory, Printer Server, and File Storage
  • 6GB of RAM, E5502 Quad-core 1.86Ghz, 2x160GB (OS), 3×500 (storage)

Dell PowereEdge 2950 II

  • 12GB of RAM, 2×1.6Ghz
  • 6x500GB SATA Hard drives
  • This server runs ESXi 4.1 and hosts freeNAS and Ubuntu (overkill)

Dell PowerEdge 2650

  • freeNAS – attached via iSCSI to R710 for nightly full backup using Windows Backup software
  • 4GB, 2×2.4Ghz, 5x146GB 10,000 RPM SCSI

Dell PowerEdge 1800

  • 16GB RAM, 2×3.6Ghz
  • 3x160GB SATA Hard drives
  • Also ESXi4.1 hosts 2 instances of Server 2008 x32 to run our accounting software and digital signage software

Dell SC440

  • Server 2003, SyncToy to do data backup every 2 hours
  • 1GB of RAM
  • Lacie NAS box with 4x250GB (Raid 5)

11 Proxim AP-4000 A/B/G Wirless Access Points

  • Private SSID (secured)
  • Public SSID (unsecured)

Sonicwall NSA 2400

  • To be replaced by pfSense running on SuperMicro 1U half depth server with Intel Quad port PCIe network card

Apple

  • 24″ iMac
  • Quad-core MacPro with SSD, and RAID

Primarily run Dell Optiplex 755s for the desktops, but also 745s and various other Dimension level PCs
