It is a sad day for me. I have chosen to quit selling items on eBay.
Since 2001 I have been a part of the ebay community, buying and selling items frequently. Over the years they have increased their final value fees, increased their PayPal transaction fees, and increased their insertion fees. However, the most recent final value shipping fee is the straw that broke the camel’s back.
As someone who charges fair shipping prices I was shocked to find that it actually cost me 9% of the shipping costs. Rather than increase my shipping price and thus perpetuate the vicious cycle, I am not going to sell on ebay any more or use Paypal.
I honestly think that the decision to charge a shipping fee will bring about the end of the company.
So, ebay, I bid you adieu.
