No, not a car. Rather, a trail bike.
I have been riding a 2003 Cannondale F400 since I bought it new 13 years ago. Several years ago I began saving for a new bike some of my requirements were:
- Full Suspension with long travel
- Light enough to climb, but not necessarily an XC (cross country) bike
- Burly enough to take some decent hits, after all, there is a new downhill park very close to my house
- Tubeless Wheels
- Loads of traction
- Fun
So, after saving my pennies for about 4 years I finally scored my new bike…
- 1×11 Shimano XT Drive Train, this means only one chainring in the front and no front derailleur
- Rockshox Pike RCT 3 140mm Fork
- Fox Float rear shock
- Shimano BL-M445/BR-M447 Brakes 180mm Front Rotor, 160mm Rear Rotor
- Shimano XT PD-M8020 Pedals with a small platform
- Ibis Seatpost, and Saddle
- Cane Creek Headset
- Thomson Lo-Fi Carbon handlebar
- Thomson Elite X4 Stem
- Lizard Skin grips
- Schwalbe Nobby Nic 27.5 x 2.8″ Plus Tires (yes, they are huge)
- Ibis 738 Aluminum Wheelset
It is both incredibly fun and fast! The long travel and fat tires are great for rock gardens around NWA. Here’s to the next great ride!
