Scott and Steve from Preferred Office brought our new printer yesterday. A Canon iR C5185, this is a color laser printer/copier. While we used to have a color laser and a separate B&W copier it just wasn’t meeting our needs, namely, being able to print in color on thick paper in large quantities.
Initial Setup was was easy (done with a web utility). We are now able to use access codes, user mailboxes queues, and my favorite…scan to email. For those of you in the corporate world who have been doing this for sometime…hush up, we move a little slower in church IT land.
I am sure I will catch a little grief over requiring access codes to print and copy. But, the $$$ can add up quickly with an 11×17 double sided color copy.
